(We finished this house in the spring of 2018).  We have five more homes to blog about, someday.

This house.  This little bungalow was so much fun to transform!  Well, the floors were a bear, but so worth it, in the end!  This was our final transformation before we moved to Deland, FL for good. 

We think about this one a lot.  It was simple living, to be sure.  This two bed one bath house was definitely cozy, at all of 881 square feet.  But because it had a good ole Michigan basement, there was still plenty of room to stuff things. 

We didn't do much to the outside. What we did do, was create a little curb appeal so we weren't embarrassed to call this home for a minute.  Like, we painted black and white stripes on the awning that was there.  You might need to squint to see it in the photo, but it's there.. and I loved how it transformed the feel of it all.  We didn't even remember to get an after photo!  gasp.  (Come on, we were beyond excited about moving to Florida!!). We did manage to grab a screenshot of an after photo that was taken thanks to Google!!)  Yep, they must have taken it shortly after we sold it. 

Don't look too close at the photo, I even had to test my hand at some delicate photoshop techniques.  (Which I'll admit I did in haste.) The new homeowner (yes, we love him) but he replaced our real plants with faux ones, and well, that's just not in our vocabulary..especially OUTSIDE.. hand. over. mouth.  So, I "borrowed" some of our plants from another window box..from the house before this one, and placed them here."  Not bad, huh?  I may have borrowed that ivy potted urn too. (snickering).   It was there when we were there.... It just wasn't there for this photo.  So, again, no judging...please & thank you.  

The main living area was quite the transformation!!  These floors were incredible once finished!  To say it was a labor of love to refinish them, is an understatement!  Underneath the carpet was hideous linoleum and under that was paint!  Yes, they painted that spectacular wood flooring.  We only went through about 10,000 pieces of sandpaper!!  I can't even.

We painted everything one of our classic go to colors by Sherwin Williams:  Dover White!  SW 6385.  It just never lets us down.  It's a warm white.  Classic, yet timeless.  This is the first time we painted walls, ceilings, trim.. all of it Dover White though. We weren't disappointed.

Take note of the wooden valances in the before photos.  We repurposed them in the kitchen!

That canvas Chicago art is from Z Gallerie, and we've been adding chicness to walls since 2011.  We love it!  It was a bit of an investment, but so worth it.  Last we looked, they still have a rendition available, but now it's behind glass, and a tad more expensive.

The wooden valances we just painted, and turned them upside down, and created shelving in the kitchen.  My husband loves to repurpose things, & I love that he loves it.  It's a win win for all involved.

Ok, disclaimer: it was REALLY hard not to replace the counters and especially the appliances!  That would have completely transformed this kitchen, but it really was a cozy little space..considering.  

The cabinets we painted one of our very favorite navy colors, Anchors Aweigh SW 9179 by Sherwin Williams.  We've gone through so many navy's.  This one however, is my favorite SW navy.  It's deep, and rich!  Once we installed the brass hardware, the kitchen was transformed.

We also put not one, but two chandeliers in that small space over that bar, turned island.  We loved how that added so much drama to the space.

Ikea is a dream if you want to hang kitchen utensils, and whatever else. See those here.

This bathroom.  We just have no words.  So we won't use any.  The vanity was custom made.  My husband, John took an amish made cabinet that we found at one of our favorite resale shops, and converted it into a vanity.  It was lovely.

That Manly Indulgence Candle from TJ Maxx called 5 O'Clock Shadow, has still got to be one of the best smelling candles EVER.  Just sayin'.
